Overwhelming need
Along the journey of the past few years while becoming involved in aid organisations across the globe, it has many times seemed completely overwhelming the amount of true poverty, slavery, misery and pain that exists in the here and now.
While it is true that history outlines a similar tale, as often tragedy follows choices made by individuals who have power/influence and usually negatively affects those who have none. We become more and more aware of each developing crisis on a day by day basis as the media infiltrates the most closed off populations and feeds our ever increasing thirst for knowledge with graphic imagery. Truthfully it is overwhelming, de-sensitising and easier to turn away then to engage. However, virtually becoming numb to poverty, tragedy and need robs us of the opportunity to experience joy, connection and purpose.
It’s a choice .. finding a purpose, empowering others, one individual at a time …
